fabric8 is pleased to present Summer of the Swanicorn, a solo show featuring new paintings by artist and graphic designer Daniel Fleres. Opening Reception Friday, June 24, 7-10PM ++ Street Food Fridays with Hot Buns, TakoyakiSF, Soup Dup, Sweet Constructions, and more! A collection of works showcasing a previously unknown creature, Summer of the Swanicorn depicts variations of a species that is part swan, part unicorn, and part unexpected -- like snowflakes and fingerprints, no two are identical. Now facing extinction, Fleres chronicles the elusive Swanicorn as it comes out of hiding from regions throughout the world to seek protection from human beings. Life and all of its complexities are the artistic inspiration for Daniel Fleres. He experiments with paint and mixed media on a variety of surfaces to create streamlined portraits of mournful yet colorful, and often imaginary, creatures against skillfully-rendered backgrounds. Summer of the Swanicorn will be on exhibit from June 24 through July 25.
